Migraine & Genetics
Did you know that migraine can run in families? If you suffer from migraine headaches, there’s a good chance genetics play a role. In this video, we explore how heredity influences migraine, why some people are more prone to them, and how understanding your genetic risk can help guide treatment options.
We’ll also discuss triggers, inflammation, and innovative approaches to migraine relief, including emerging treatments that target key pathways involved in migraine attacks.

Road to Discovery – Our Journey in Migraine Research
We’ve just kicked off a clinical trial, testing a new investigational migraine treatment developed by our sponsor after 15 years of research. Getting FDA and IRB approval was a huge milestone, but now we’re facing the real challenge—finding volunteers like YOU who suffer from migraine headaches and are interested in being part of something that could change the future of migraine treatment.

Cytokines: Potentially the Root Cause of Migraine
In this video, the Migraine Guru explains the emerging role of cytokines in the development of migraines. Cytokines, small signaling molecules, are thought to trigger inflammation along the trigeminal nerve, leading to the pain associated with migraine attacks. We also discuss how targeting and blocking cytokine production could provide a novel approach to treating and preventing migraines. Learn more about our ongoing research exploring this potential treatment and its implications for migraine relief.

Today we’re diving into neuropathic pain. So, what exactly is neuropathic pain? Unlike regular pain caused by physical injury, neuropathic pain happens when something goes wrong with the nerves themselves. It can feel like an electric shock or a deep, burning pain that doesn’t go away, even when the affected area isn’t physically hurt. This pain happens because the nerves are misfiring or sending pain signals to the brain, even when there’s no actual damage to the body. For example, with conditions like herniated discs, a nerve can become irritated, and the pain might radiate along the nerve’s pathway, like down the leg if it’s the L5 nerve.

Migraine is more than just a headache—it’s a complex neurological condition. In this video, we explain how irritation of nerve cells and the trigeminal ganglion triggers the release of cytokines, leading to the intense pain felt along the trigeminal nerve branches. Learn more about the science behind migraines and how this knowledge can help in finding better treatments.
